È bella l'idea di lasciare ricordi dei vecchi proprietari come le foto o i libri, che danno un senso di intimità e familiarità, donando la bella illusione che ci si trovi a casa propria. La camera da letto, presumo anch'essa di famiglia essendo dei primi decenni del Novecento, ha rinnovato questa sensazione di stare “in famiglia”. Le lenzuola candide e fresche sono un conforto, coerenti con la camera della “nonna”. Al mattino siamo stati accolti da una fantastica ragazza di nome Sarà che ha fatto di tutto per coccolarci. Stanze ed ambienti comuni pulitissimi grazie alla bravissima Agata. Tuttavia, ci sarebbero delle cose decisamente da cambiare per poter giustificare il prezzo a notte del soggiorno, che è richiesto obbligatoriamente per almeno due notti. Abbiamo girato tutta la Sicilia, soggiornando anche in strutture storiche, pagando meno ed avendo molto di più. Il bagno, per esempio, sarebbe da rifare. Nella doccia non c'è un angolo di appoggio per ciò che necessità per lavarsi, se non per terra in un angolo. Manca la stecca porta rotolo della carta igienica, appoggiato quindi nella cavità preposta che se non stai attento ti cade per terra. Il cerchio in metallo, attorno al bottone a pressione dello sciacquone, si stacca col rischio di cadere nella tazza ogni volta che tiri. Il cestino porta rifiuti è rotto con il coperchio appoggiato per terra. Una sorta di rastrelliera in plastica mezza rotta e instabile che ho usato per mettere il set di asciugamani puliti che non avrebbe trovato altra collocazione. A parte per le mani, non c'è un gancio o qualcosa di simile per appendere gli asciugamani usati. Un tavolinetto in legno per appoggiare forse ciò che non avresti saputo dove collocare e che serve in bagno è tutto macchiato e scolorito; tra l'altro con un minimo di cura in più sarebbe stato l'unico punto d'arredo carino nel bagno. Un piccolo restauro ed un bel vetro sopra di protezione da shampoo e chissà che altro e voilà, il gioco sarebbe fatto. Un bagno così, vetusto e bruttino, oggi non lo troveresti nemmeno al ritiro delle suore. La colazione si salva un po' per la buona volontà di Sara che condisce il cibo, assolutamente basilare, con la sua allegria e disponibilità. Di fronte c'è la migliore gelateria di Punta Secca, almeno stando alle recensioni, cosa ci vorrebbe ad offrire, nella suggestiva cornice “Montalbanesca”, un bel cannolo o una pasta a cupoletta tipici della zona? Con quel che si paga per due notti a persona, forse ci scapperebbe senza andare in fallimento pure una bella granita al caffè! Peccato quindi, con poca spesa ed una maggiore attenzione alla manutenzione e al rinnovamento, si potrebbe offrire davvero un soggiorno completamente indimenticabile e non solo per merito del noto Commissario. übersetzen diese Text

Bellissima struttura che fa del noto serial televisivo, il suo punto di forza. La sistemazione in camera è confortevole, forse alla camera a noi assegnata si potrebbe manutentare il box doccia che necessita di qualche miglioria. La discesa in spiaggia è comodissima, ma si potrebbe rinnovare il materiale per il servizio spiaggia (sedie ed ombrelloni offerte dalla direzione della struttura). La vista mare dalla nostra camera ce l'aspettavamo più frontale, ma la terrazza utilizzata come area comune e per la prima colazione è meravigliosa. Il personale è molto disponibile ed ospitale, sempre pronto a raccogliere ed esaudire richieste ed eventuali necessità. La struttura avrebbe bisogno di rivedere un pò i complementi di arredo delle stanze logorati dal tempo. Molti accessori sono arrugginiti, le lampade dei bagni presentano fili esposti e sono prive di coprilampade, il box doccia è usurato, il bagno non era ben pulito, e gli interruttori della luce erano coperti da filo adesivo. C'è poca attenzione ai dettagli. Le mie aspettative sono state purtroppo disattese, soprattutto in considerazione del prezzo non irrisorio. La colazione aveva poca scelta e era servita su tovagliette di plastica. In risposta al gestore, ribadisco lo stato di conservazione non ottimale dei mobili e del bagno della stanza a me riservata e la invito a verificare di persona. Avrei postato direttamente le foto per meglio informare gli utenti, ma il sito non lo consente. Quando l'ospite paga una cifra simile, non è suo compito far notare la scarsa pulizia. La delusione più grande, servita sul balcone con tovagliette in plastica, frutta tenuta in frigo chissà da quanto tempo, due uova sode e dei cornetti (fortunatamente che c'erano quelli). Era il nostro sogno di passare qualche giorno in quella casa. La casa è veramente molto bella e romantica. Purtroppo abbiamo avuto la sfortuna di incontrarci una grande famiglia siciliana con due bimbe. Anche noi siamo genitori e proprio per questo a volte avremmo voluto avere la possibilità di trovare in attimo di pace. Le bimbe gridavano e piangevano di notte e di giorno. Purtroppo gridavano anche gli adulti. Questo ci ha guastato un po' l'atmosfera. I posti come questo dovrebbero essere protetti dalle grida animalesche dei bambini viziati. Casa Montalbano exceeded my expectations- the size of and view from ‘that’ terrace is fantastic as was the excitement of being there after seeing so many Montalbano episodes! We had a non sea view room and it was a good size and the bed was comfy! The shower cubicle could do with an upgrade but that was my only negative. The air con was the best we’d come across in our two weeks touring Sicily. Sara and Ivana (the hosts) were both super friendly and mostly we had the terrace all to ourselves- it certainly was not a problem in any way sharing with other guests. Punta Secca too was a lovely little town completely off the (British!) radar although perfect for watching the holidaying Sicilians with many restaurants - although do book as soon as you arrive as they fill up fast. The sea right in front of the house is only waist deep, sheltered and with a totally sandy bottom so just lovely. I highly recommend staying here - such a treat for fans (& a great stay even if you aren’t) ! übersetzen diese Text

We were really looking forward to staying here but I have to say it was a disappointment. There was nobody at the property to let us in when we arrived and it took over 15 minutes before anybody responded to either of the phone numbers provided. Access to the property is a problem as it is in a pedestrian zone which wan't clear in adavnce. We are big Montalbano fans! It was great to be there and to recognise the house and beach from the films. However, I did expect a welcome upon our arrival, but only got a code to enter the building and we were expected to find the room on our own. In fact, I only met Ivana right at the end of our stay to settle the bill. There is no question that the bed and breakfast is run as a ‘no frills’ business. More readily available background to the house, history of the filming and area would have been very helpful, given that people visit La Casa di Montalbano because of the TV series. The breakfasts consisted of boiled eggs, cake, croissants, cheese, tea/coffee. Sara provided breakfast on some of the days we were there and was very friendly. She did give us some useful information. The setting of the B&B is stunning. We had a room called Scirocco with patio doors. These enabled us to walk directly to the terrace rather than going through the sitting room. The bedroom was a good size, and the shower room was adequate. It was nice to have a small fridge in our room so we could buy our own drinks to have on the terrace before going out. We ate delicious meals at some of the many restaurants in Punta Secca (within walking distance of the B&B). These are the restaurants at which we really enjoyed an evening meal: Scjabica Cuoco Pescatore, Sand Design, Pappappero, Rosengarten. Our evening meal at Enzo a Mare was a disappointment. On reflection we should have gone there for a small lunch just to experience where Montalbano is filmed having his meals. We visited all the places where the programmes were filmed including Scicli, where the offices are exactly as shown in the series, Via Scale in Ragusa, where Montalbano and his colleagues have discussions, and the castle at Donnafugata where Montalbano talks to a Mafia boss. The beach at Punta Secca is unspoilt by tourism and a lovely place to relax. The town has a pleasant ambience, and the Spar supermarket provides a range of basic needs including marvellous arancini and panini. übersetzen diese Text

Nelle ultime tre voci non ho dato il massimo non perché non meritevoli ma vi spiego il motivo: il gestore, purtroppo per via dell'orario di arrivo nostro sul tardi (e la mattina lei arrivava a metà mattina) non ci siamo incontrati, però ho dato un 8 per la sua disponibilità e cortesia, il 9 del rapporto qualità/prezzo perché forse per una notte mi sembra un pò eccessiva anche se la struttura si paga anche il nome famoso, la colazione forse perché mi sarei aspettato qualcosina in più sia sul salato, sul dolce e sulle bibite. The room heating/cooling worked well, though usually we enjoyed windows open. It's impossible to submit a normal review for this B&B because, as we all know, this is the house used to film Inspector Montalbano! As big fans of the series, it was a huge thrill to stay there for two nights, it was insane to sit out on the terrace and have dozens of tourists snapping away down below on the beach and the roadway. As a normal b&b it was fine, the young lady running the place was efficient and charming, but all that pales into insignificance when I realise that I sat and drank wine on the same terrace as Montalbano, and slept in the same house. Un suggerimento: visto che ci hanno sconsigliato di bere l'acqua del rubinetto, le bottigliette andrebbero rimpiazzate tutti i giorni (non solo il primo giorno). La casa està tal como imaginaba. Los muebles de la habitación muy viejos. En el armario las perchas eran viejas y cada una de una manera. Cuidan poco los detalles. Los frasquitos del gel y champú se notaba que los recargaban. Además estuvimos dos noches y no repusieron. La anfitriona le vimos el pelo el último día que tuvo que venir a cobrar. No nos recibió nadie eso que era antes de las 20h. No tienen ni un triste mapa o información sobre la ruta de Montalbano. Siendo esta la casa podrían preocuparse y la gente seguro lo agradecería. We arrived on a beautiful sunny day and sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea makes you feel a little bit like a celebrity. The constant sound of the sea is just fantastic and the views over the famous light house and the beach are breath taking. The room was lovely and breakfast was fantastic. Maria, our host was very kind and helpful, informative about anything we wanted to know about the property and about the popularity of the tv series. I have been watching the programme "Inspector Montalbano" and the scenery is so beautiful I wanted to go there and take some photos of his house. When I found out that the actual "Montalbano" house was an exclusive B&B I just had to stay there. Fortunately, I managed to find a room on the right day, thanks to Maria, who is a superb host. However, my overnight stay was more than that. It was a very pleasant experience thanks to Maria ensuring that her guests have everything they need to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. Furthermore, the balcony is more than just a balcony. Having your breakfast there, with the soft sound of the waves breaking, the breeze caressing your face and the beautiful view to the sea is absolutely magic. I could have stay there all day. The experience does not end here. Maria provides you with an umbrella and chair and you can enjoy the sandy, secluded beach with its crystal clear blue water and swim to your heart's content. And, as I was leaving before the allocated breakfast time the following day, Maria offered to leave some breakfast for me in my room. The whole experience was fantastic and much more than I expected thanks to Maria's friendliness, efficiency and attention to detail. Thank you very much, Maria. You made my day. Excellent location beside the sea with great breakfast on the terrace in the morning. Maria was very helpful with information before and during my stay and went out of her way to make sure everything was okay with my transport arrangements (travelled by bus) to get to the property which was very reassuring for me. I was in a single room and it would benefit from airconditioning rather than the overhead fan but apart from that it was a wonderful experience in the home of Montalbano! I unfortunately had to do this trip alone although my sister is the great Montalbano fan. (She was unable to go) I was interested to see what the room was like as I was told it was a converted attic room and was delighted with the décor and spaciousness of it. Although the windows are quite high up, the room faces the sea and gives a lovely soothing sound at night. Maria was a superb host, her English is very good and she was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it for Montalbano fans and others alike. Despite it being a very pretty small town, Punta Secca is essentially a holiday resort and therefore is very quiet out of season. Buses to nearer, livelier towns - e. g. As a fan of Montalbano, staying here was like stepping straight into an episode magical! If you aren't a fan, it's still a gorgeous location and house but you might get annoyed by all the sightseers. Surprisingly, the pizza place a few doors away is very good both ourselves and another couple staying at the B&B got a pizza with low expectations but it was great to eat on the balcony with some tasty wine. We stayed at La Casa di Montelbano for 3 nights. Maria, our hostess, was charming, accommodating and very helpful. Shortly before our stay, my husband was diagnosed as celiac and Maria had no problem providing a suitable and very ample breakfast for him, even going so far as to supply individual gluten free muffins and cakes. She also supplied recommendation on some local restaurants, prior to our trip. Guests were given full access to lounge, dining and terrace areas and deck chairs and umbrellas were supplied for use on the local beaches. Tea and coffee was available. We booked the accommodation because we are fans of the Montalbano series, but our experience has now made us fans not only of Montalbano, but of Sicily and the lovely Sicilian people. La Casa di Montalbano è diventata una sorta di mausoleo, tour organizzati da tutto il mondo per fare uno foto davanti alla famosa terrazza sul mare. Ma questo non pregiudica la tranquillità del soggiorno. La camera che ci hanno dato era ampia, pulita e dotata di tutti i comfort (aria condizionata, bagno con tutto il necessario, sdraio e ombrellone per la spiaggia). Disponibile anche il servizio di noleggio dei teli mare. La colazione viene servita nel salone ad uso comune ed è possibile consumarla anche in terrazza. Maria our host was lovely-friendly and accommodating. I think the house is overly priced due to its Montalbano connections and not really value for money. Our room was quite basic for the price we paid. I don't mind basic, but I like value for money. It was quite cold while we were there and the lounge would have been comfortable but the only heating was a gas heater with awful fumes so we had to switch it off-we could smell the fumes upstairs in our bedroom. Since the house was full-it is generating a fair bit of money and I think the owner should be prepared to invest in a better heating system. Other things are cheaply done eg-stick on towel rails in the bathroom-a cheap makeover really, and the price should reflect this. Breakfast was lovely and more than adequate. übersetzen diese Text

Enjoyed spending time with others in a setting that, absent a shared interest in Montalbano, we likely wouldn't have visited. The house is comfortable and relaxing. The view (and sound of the ocean) from the large room facing the sea was exceptional. Maria was a gracious and helpful host. And although the town was empty in the off season, each night more than one restaurant with welcoming staff and excellent seafood was open to enjoy. As an avid Montalbano fan it is hard to not give this B&B the highest rating. However if I was staying here without knowing who Montalbano was I would still give it the same rating. Great location by the beach, drift off to sleep listening to the waves breaking on the sand. Maria is just wonderful, great breakfast, clean rooms, what more can you ask for? Also a comfortable lounge area where the guests mingle and compare favorite episodes! Ragusa Ibla is the nearest large town and you must visit, it is superb. It was a delight to stay at Casa di Montalbano - we love the Inspector Montalbano tv series. Even without the Montalbano connection we would still have loved staying at the B&B as the house and location were perfect. The staff (especially Maria) were wonderful and friendly, we were made to feel at home. The building is delightful, it was great to sit on the balcony eating breakfast watching the sea. The location is idyllic and the views from the terrace and our bedroom, we were lucky to have the room with a sea view, are unforgettable. The furnishings and décor were in keeping with the character of the building. Lovely Maria made us so welcome and the breakfast provided had plenty of choice and was fresh daily. Montalbano fans, so staying in a room with that sea/beach view couldn't get much better, but perhaps watching the filming of the final scenes in next seasons episodes, with Livia and Montalbano, from the breakfast terrace, just possibly edged it! Ivana (landlady) was most helpful making sure we felt we 'owned' and fully enjoyed the facilities, (despite being surrounded by film crew for a day), and along with her staff made us most welcome. Having access to the lounge/dining area and terrace was a real benefit which all the residents seemed to enjoy (felt like a house pary at times). A really relaxing and enjoyable stay (despite the tourists). OK the main attraction of this B&B is that its used for the Inspector Montalbano filming. However the room we had without a sea view was a bit of a jumble when we arrived. It was sparsely furnished with few facilities, and no coherent decor. It looked more like a hostel room than a relatively expensive B&B. As Montalbano fans, we were looking forward to our stay at La Casa di Montalbano and we were not disappointed., The room was light and airy and the bed very comfortable. We appreciated having the mini-fridge to keep our water (and Prosecco) in. The setting could not be better, right on the beach, and the swimming there is just wonderful - as another reviewer has noted, we enjoyed having the two beach chairs and parasol to use. What a pleasant surprise! The B&B was even better than we hoped. The staff (Laura) was very helpful. Beautiful location, beach and sea views. Facilities more than adequate, breakfast was fine but it is a lot of work for one person to handle. We were always made to feel welcome. The location, position and ambience of this B&B is wonderful, right on the beach at Punta Secca (they even give you your own beach chairs to borrow) and close to good restaurants/bars and small shops. Punta Secca itself is nice and easily explored. Hosts Ivana, Laura and team are very welcoming. And of course there’s the pleasure of having breakfast on “Montalbano’s balcony” and then later in the day just sitting on the balcony at sunset with a glass of wine– delightful. We had a very comfortable and well-fitted first floor double bedroom, overlooking a small piazza with a separate bathroom/shower. Breakfast is continental style (of course) and enthusiastically served by a member of the team but is only of average quality. Each morning seemed beset with small problems (no knives one day, no butter the next, hard-boiled eggs that weren’t hard boiled, rather stale bread each day, temperamental toaster). But their home-made marmalade is lovely. But it’s more than made up by being able to eat it on “Montalbano’s balcony”. If you aren’t a Montalbano fan, I’d suggest you’d find this a superior B&B well worth staying at with a superb position and balcony but rather expensive for the quality and breakfast you actually get. You might also find the almost constant stream of tourists looking up at you on the balcony and taking pictures and bit wearing. On the other hand you might find that attractive.
